I'm so fortunate..

To live in VA where I am 33 miles inland of the oceanfront and then have surrounding fields and land around where I can find cool stuff in the ground.

With finds like that I would not bother with the beach.

That's some weird scratching around the date on your LC. Wonder what that was all about. And I'm sure that 2-piece button had you going for a minute. Still a nice looking one that cleaned up nicely. Good hunt!

Great finds. It's always nice to live in an area where there's so much history.

Awesome large cent.I find those at the beach after a storm once and a while, but there awyays toast.

I like that two piece gilted button Ina. I'm sure the LC gave you a rush when you first spotted it in the dirt!

going for old or going for gold, it nice to have your cake and ice cream too :sunny:
nice hit on the LC

Good finds Ina. Glad to see you are having land and water success.

Nice finds.. In Wisconsin I am only few miles from the lake front and also have lots of parks and open space to hunt also.. Makes it fun,,,, Good hunting this summer Shane

Nice digs! Glad you're having fun.

Nice find. I've almost forgotten what a LC looks like it's been so long since I dug one. There is a really narrow time frame to get one down here. Mid 1840s to Civil War or a little later (too late and I don't really want to hunt the site--would rather find the earlier stuff). Coppers didn't circulate down here until quite late (none made in New Orleans, only Philly, and it took a long time for them to circulate down here).

Well done,

Buck

Nice finds friend! : )
