Hey MM, it ain't over till it's over! I don't even think there's a crust here yet. Going to try to get out today maybe. Easier to grid now that I can see where Ive been in the snow! ffd

My brother and I have a woods spot scoped out we're gonna try today, that's where I like hunting in this kind of weather, it's a woods that don't have hunters in it too.

went out this am...2.36 in clad :( ...about an inch of frozen, then easy diggin'

Yeah, we already have about 6 or 7 inches on the ground up here, and now Wed and Thurs will be a big storm and lake effect snow too. (Up here is Charlevoix County)

May just be time to hang it up for the winter.
Research Research Research!

Good Luck down in the Southern part of Michigan!

Mark

Hello all.. Yeah just a few flakes today, grounds a little hard but you can still dig no snow on the ground here About 30 mins west of Detroit, just a little cold...lol ;D

I've hit a few spots where some of the ground is frozen, other spots easy
digging. Light flurries here so far, but hasn't stuck yet. Thursday 'spose
to be a high of 42- plan on hitting some woods then.

Good luck,
HH.

42 Degrees? I thought you were in Michigan!!!!

The high up here is predicted to be 19 on Thursday! With high winds and blowing snow.

It just plain isn't fair.

Good Luck on the 42 degrees!

I will just go water hunting! :laughing7:

Oh man its going to be a long season. For sure! Time to do more research, I guess.

Well I am watching our first snow storm. :icon_pale: Lets get it started and over with......

Ok,
I am not just watching the storm, I am participating.
How much are you getting down there? I just blew about 9 inches from my parking lot, and it is coming down so fast I have another inch or so where I started.

I am tired of this already. At lunch time I can go home and clean out my driveway. Yipeee!

The guy plowing next door said the stuff was so wet and heavy he got his 4 wheel drive plow truck stuck in his own driveway.
It has the consistency of wet concrete, and it just keeps coming.

Hope you are not quite so deep in it down there.

Anyone watching this thread from the UP? I saw the 17" prediction for parts of the Upper today.

Good Luck,
Mark

Yeah sorry to complain Mark. ;D Here on the Michigan Ohio Border we have a lot of wind snow flakes but nothing sticking. If I am able to pull one more Memorial cent outta the ground, I am dedicate it to you and everyone else that would love to be able to pull one more this year! :icon_thumleft: Man oh man that is just to much snow. :o

Oops, was mistaken in my last post in this thread. Wednesday was supposed to
be 42 degrees, turned out to be 39 and very windy. Went to the park and
on my way out found that a tree had been knocked down across the road
while I was detecting. Out in the field, I could hear the wind sounding
almost like a freight train rushing thru the woods, accompanied by loud
cracks and crashes, didn't realize at the time that some of those crashes
were probably trees toppling over.

Too cold for me for now, but monday I think I'll hit it again, it's been cold, little
snow, but will be happy to find some diggable ground.

Good luck, and Happy Hunting to all.

Hmmmm.

13 degrees this morning. Another 7 inches of snow.
Windy with Whiteouts all over up here.

Ran out of gas with the tractor and blower. Threw a belt on the tractor blower and had to lay in the snow to get it back on. Oil leak on the walk behind blower.

All I can say is I hope someone is finding some diggable ground!

Please, find something good! And soon! I need a fix, and it will need to be done vicariously through one or several of you!

Good Luck,
Mark
