Hi Nan,
Am bringing a keyboard and hubby with fiddle. Anybody who wants can play the keyboard. I'm like you - learned classical and church music. Hubby does fiddle and violin. I want to hear you! Am digging out a few Civil War tunes to wake up the ghosts. :o My major problem is I play not by ear but by music. Sure is a drag sometimes, but I've decided I'm too much of an old dog to learn those new tricks. :D

Noodle

Oboy, you mean I'm gonna have to practice before coming? (I don't mean the MD, either!)

Nan :P

p.s.
and am I bringing the music??? ;)

Re: UPDATED 8/24/06 T-Net Forum Hunt!!! In Oct.

Nan,
Only bring music if you need it. I'm rustling up some Civil War songs that are in my storage shed; old books my grandma had when she taught music in the 19teens. Every campfire needs s'mores, a fiddle, mouth harp and guitar for "When Johnny Comes Marchin' Home Again," "She'll be comin' round the mountain," and a few ole country gospels if anybody's game. May even throw in a little "Battle Hymn of the Republic" since we'll be on Union ground! ;D Us Southerners will just have to grin and bear it! ;D >:( Greg said he's bringing a guitar, and so are we, so we should have plenty of strings. Keyboard will be for added kicks. Sounds great! Git to practicin'! :D - Noodle

Re: UPDATED 9/13/06 T-Net Forum Hunt!!! In Oct.

I have received 4 or 5 requests to camp at our property in Central Missouri the weekend of the hunt. I need everyone that wants to camp that weekend to message me and let me know:

1. What day you will be arriving
2. What day you will be departing
3. How many will be with you
4. Basically what direction you will be coming from
5. If you are bringing a camper or tent
6. Email Address

I will have directions to our camp from Versailles, MO and Eldon, MO so look at your maps and let me know which set of directions you will need. Please message me with your email address so I can send out the information as one email.

Missouri is a wonderful place to be, especially in the fall. Camping makes it that much better.

Re: UPDATED 9/13/06 Hunt!!! In Oct.

Less than 2 weeks to go! I have read all the replys concerning an AFTER HUNT BONFIRE but haven't seen anything about where it can be held. After messaging JD, my wife and I are considering having it at our propterty near Lake of the Ozarks. Its 45 miles SE of the hunt site and will take you about an hour to get there. The good news is the roads back to your hotels in Sedalia are a little better so it will only take you an hour to get from our property to your hotel room in Sedalia. Knowing this I need to find out who is still interested in getting together after the hunt at our place. We have 8.5 acres but very little of it has been cleared and parking could be a problem if everyone from the hunt shows up driving their own car. So please if you are interested in attending message me and let me know how many will be attending with you.

Thanks!

Re: UPDATED 9/13/06 Hunt!!! In Oct.

Am bringing some bright orange flags on metal stems to mark the spots where discoveries are made. They can be written on as to what was found and by whom. After it's all over, they may tell a story as to the layout of the camp. We'll pick them up before we leave.

How many do you think we'll need???

I don't know how many we'll need. I have somewhere between 30-50 of them myself. I also have over 100 empty film canisters and cotton balls for any small finds.

Re: UPDATED 9/13/06 Hunt!!! In Oct.

Stoney,
I have 200. If we run out, we'll use kleenex and rocks. :D

Re: UPDATED 9/13/06 Hunt!!! In Oct.

JD,
When can we expect information on the hunt site and the events for the weekend? I want to make sure I also get the information for the dinner on Friday night.

Don

Re: UPDATED 9/13/06 Hunt!!! In Oct.

Unless I'm totally missing the boat, we shouldn't expect any information for another week, which will be "one week in advance", since, according to my calculations, right now, we're two weeks out............isn't the hunt October 14th?

Please tell me I haven't asked for the wrong weekend off from work..............

Re: UPDATED 9/13/06 Hunt!!! In Oct.

Ramjet, You are correct the hunt is the weekend of the 14th. I am just over anxious and impatient. It may have already been posted here and I can't find it but what I am most interested in is the time and the place of the get together on Friday night. My wife will be in Kansas City and I will be at our Camp on Friday and somehow I need to drive back and pick her up after she gets off work and then make it to the dinner in Warsaw. I am the kind of person that doesn't do anything without a plan.

Re: UPDATED 9/13/06 Hunt!!! In Oct.

Don,dinner is 5pm - 10pm.OK to be a little early or late. From the intersection of US65 and MO7(Clinton) go south and cross the bridge and take the next exit(Wildcat DR).Turn left at top of exit.Turn right at next road and follow it to the Amer Legion (tank and 'copter out front). We have the hall all afternoon and evening.A lot of times it's a little more exciting in life to do something on the spur of the minute without a plan!Live it up! Anxious to meet you and yours.See ya the 13th.

Re: UPDATED 9/13/06 Hunt!!! In Oct.
