Re: UPDATED 8/14/06 T-Net Forum Hunt!!! In Oct.

My comp is finally back up!!

due to some emails i have recieved let me explain this as clear as I can...

This is not a DIV in Virginia type hunt, this was started in the T-Net chat room as friends just getting together, I just happen to have gotten permission at a CW site here in Mo., now people are emailing about belt plates and stuff like that... if someone finds a belt plate there I would consider it an act of God! this place has been heavily hunted for 23 years...
Out of 10 trips I have made there in the last 2 years I have found some relics on 6 occasions, on 4 times I got skunked...
Remember this also... this is for us here at T-Net and a few local Mo. friends I have invited.
ALSO: We are also contemplating having an area of planted relics I have recieved so many donations that I think that would be the best to do with the stuff, but this I am not 100% on the planted field yet...
This is gonna be a great time I cant wait to meet you all!!

any questions just ask....jd

GYPSY I'll be loaded up with silver for your bonfire dance!! :)

Re: UPDATED 8/14/06 T-Net Forum Hunt!!! In Oct.

J.D., I have talked to a few people that believe they know of the hunt site. They tell me that after the war the soldiers buried uniforms and everything else in the bottom of their huts (which were dug into the ground about 4 feet). Any way we can get the property owner to either remove the top couple inches of topsoil or possibly use a plow to turn the soil over. This might bring some of the shallower objects to the surface. Also are we going to be allowed to dig as deep as we want or are we going to be limited to how big a hole we dig?

Thanks!

Re: UPDATED 8/14/06 T-Net Forum Hunt!!! In Oct.

i was thinking trash pit or corduroy road also

Re: UPDATED 8/14/06 T-Net Forum Hunt!!! In Oct.

They may have buried stuff but I doubt that it was in the floor of the huts. Hut floors are usually hard as concrete. Tony

Re: UPDATED 8/14/06 T-Net Forum Hunt!!! In Oct.

Somebody told me that when the was was over they took all the stuff they thought was junk and put it in the hut and then filled it in. Since these huts were dug into the ground between 2 and 4 feet, thats how deep the good stuff is buried.

Got my 2006 Hunt hooded sweatshirt from USTIGER. I think it looks great and he put my handle on the back. The 2006 Hunt logo is also on the back and it has the Ghost Rider on the front.
I was happy with the quality of the sweatshirt. I think it will feel good in the evening in Oct.
Here is the URL for his place if you want to check out his hats and other things.

Re: UPDATED 8/14/06 T-Net Forum Hunt!!! In Oct.

Outback there are huts there, I even have a video of one found there 2 aprils ago...at that time we gained permission to dig some huts... but to put this as delicatly as possible the slow butt missouri guys waited too long to show back up to dig them and the owners friend convinced him that his ground will be destroyed so he said no when we finally showed up to do hut digging hes a wonderful 82 year old man and I'm not gonna pressure him to dig huts when he said no. he is gonna cut the hay pretty low for us I'm gonna leave it at that. we are lucky for this oppertunity he and his wifes health are failing fast this may be the last hunt there.

Re: UPDATED 8/14/06 T-Net Forum Hunt!!! In Oct.

Repost here, trying to get to everybody the easy way:

If you're going to the hunt, PM me with the information you want on your nametag(s). I'm making them up ahead of time. For example:

Your handle ("Noodle")
Your real name, or as much of it as you want to use
Your location, if you wish to share
Anything else you find appropriate in a family setting that will fit.

For those of you bringing guests, you can send me that information too, or I will just leave the name blank for them to fill in.

The hunt logos will be on them, along with the date. I'll try to make them "Keepers."

Thanks,
Noodle
