in search of Girty's Treasure

My Nephew & I Hit an old Homestead today
that is being turned into a recreational Facility.

Place was Intresting. Half the time I was
Stairing at the windows,
half Hoping nobody would look out,
And half the time Hoping Something would :tongue3:
Would have made me Jump for sure :laughing7:

Although we Did find a Vault (Door) in a Gigantic Tree,
the Tree grew around the door, so there is no
opening it.
(My Nephew will be Uploading Pics
along with Our Guess on its use)

and Because of this

I Don't think Doing damage is
considerd "Passive" I Guess we'll Just have to
let it be.

No Gas Rebate For Me, Not one Coin.

My entire day was just having Fun

Re: in search of Girty's Treasure

I'll just add my pics here since we didn't find a whole lot to show. My finds were a clad penny, clad dime, 1941 Wheat, 1917 wheat and 1902 V Nickel. I also attached pics of the crude "smoker" we found, or at least that is what we think it was. If someone in the future reports finding gold bars in there I will probably have a breakdown ;D

Not so sure that's a "vault door" vs. a keep-them-damn-raccoons out of the nest tree and my garden as well deterrent.

Looks like a great place to hunt. Do good!

Thanks Charlie !

the last 2 pics are looking down inside the tree.
the Trunk is Burned inside like a chimney, Hence the
smoker Idea.
one of my first thoughts was "Keep
the Varments out" too. there is a
bolt on the top, either make shift pulldown Knob,
or it was originally bolted fast, till
the tree took over..

Thanks All :icon_thumright:

Re: in search of Girty's Treasure

I dont recall any tail of a Girty treasure, hmmm. I know there were 3 Girty brothers that fought with the Shawnee against the Americans all through the Ohio valley region. They all had Shawnee wives as well.
