These were actually from yesterday and the day before.

The first was an 1999 Indonesian 100 Rupiah:

The next was a 2002 Irish 50 Cent Euro:

And the third was a 2001 French 2 Euro:

Who knows what they were doing here, as we continue to find the oddest treasures.

Touring the world one coin at a time on another's dime, that's the life for we!

Well done sir.

Best of luck to you.

These were from dirt digging. I was determined at the beginning of the year that I'd get out more, my slow evolution in my return to the hobby.

So far this year I've been on 18 dirt digs and 21 water hunts, and throw in two coinstar retrievals. I've beat my coin finds now from last year. In 2015 my first ventures out I found 2 rings and 3 pieces of silver jewelry. In 2016 for the whole year I found 8 rings and 11 silvers from 41 hunts. This year I've found 13 rings and 10 silvers in 41 hunts and have 2 1/2 months left to hunt.

Next year I hope to beat this year's finds & number of hunts. Still looking for gold! The last gold ring I found was in 1987, so I'm hungry :)

Love the finds, and you are right -- they are treasure! Coins of the realm of foreign lands; who can ask for more? :occasion14:

Great and unique finds. Congrats! :icon_thumright:

Nice and interesting finds! The Rupiah is pretty shiny for a 1999 and the die strike on both sides is really clear and full, US could use to learn to strike coins like that. If you didn't clean it, wonder what it is made of? If silver-Score! As far as the euros, looks like they weather just like our clad but still different finds and neat to see something you don;t find everyday and probably wouldn't even get in change. I'd keep'em and add to the collection!:icon_thumright:

INVASION OF ANOTHER KIND. NEET FINDS.

That Rupiah was a surface find, eyeballed it while swinging. It had yet to sink in the dirt. I think it's aluminum, pretty light and about the size between a US half & quarter.

Very cool...I know Cary and Raleigh here in NC have a large Indian population. Maybe a few got lost and found themselves in your neck of the woods?

Cool finds, congratulations!

I've big plans for tomorrow, want to hit that same spot in the morning, and then head to North Carolina for some very old river bank poker game sites - my teen years before the military abducted me. I expect to be back Sunday evening. I've been wanting to hit that river bank for a very long time. Of course it's way overgrown, the players are long dead now. I expect to find beer cans!

Maybe a silver coin? We can dream can't we :)
