very nice piece! Was it you who found the cache?

Nice and very pretty material !!

Very well made scraper/ blade. Welcome to the site

...that is beautiful & interesting...thanks for sharing & welcome to the site! :)

Thank you all for the welcome and information that I receive. I am glad I found this site and am amazed by the artifacts you people find. I actually went to this ghost town called Spring Ranche in Nebraska to see if any structures still stood. The foundations of most the old buildings remain...As I crossed a bridge I got out and went down near the river...A car stopped and a woman asked if I was catching anything and said I was just exploring and taking pictures. She knew the owners of the surrounding land and led me to them and I got to know them and got permission to search the river through his fields. They have found a few camp spots of Indians there. The cache was found by him on one spot and he showed me the turquoise pieces and what looked like jade. So he pointed me to the spot and when the river was only a few inches deep this blade stood out. So there is more to be found in that area...I have found finger bones along that area as well. As the river changes, there have been skeletons exposed as the town dealt with indian raids and lots of killings there. Amazing history there.

Awesome!! Just curious, why you think it's petrified wood?

hey hey welcome to the tnet, friend!

Really Nice little scraper there! Maybe agate? And a Great story too (but leave those finger bones alone...) And welcome to TNet! Yakker

It looks like a lot of the petrified wood I find in that area.

Beautiful artifact! Thanks for sharing it with us! 8-)
