found a few mysterious items that can possibly be from native indians. What do you guys think? Some of these rocks look like potatoes cut in half as well:icon_thumright:

Welcome to the site but they seem to be natural. On the round ones they could actually be geodes with crystals in the middle of them.

In your first pic the one that looks like it has been cut might be a type of almandine garnet. What area are you in?

Thanks To all. My parents own an 100 acre property here in Northern California with several local indian reservations around. We were told that this land was once occupied by indians. Heres some more pics of another rock that i was told was used for grinding acorn and a tree trunk that they used to useimage.webpimage.webpimage.webp

About the stones... Just figured they were too nice and raised my attention when some lady from a local indian museum asked me to sell them everything for $1000. Maybe shes a rock collector, i dont know lol Thanks again, you guys are great. Goodnight

chances are your property is loaded with points, but they are not going to be just sitting under the trees for you to pick up. where are you looking?

I picked up a few pots under those pics of rocks i posted. Some where broken, some with minor chips and some cracks.. Dug a few feet more and found more round rocks, petrified wood, some potatos that look like stones, just like the pics and some kind of oyster or clamshells with some drawings and holes on them.. On my parents property there is a creek with more big boulders with holes on them as well so go figure lol looks like im going to be busy on there property for sometime lol

I sure would like to see those pots. Did you photograph them? Nearly complete pots don't come out of the dirt very often anymore.

Did you mean rocks that looked like spuds?

you may want to dig or poke around near water, or in flat places that have good views in multiple directions. people tended to camp where they could scout out what was around them.

Sorry guys as soon as i get back to the property ill take some pics.

Thanks again. I will poke around and do as you said. Im new to this all this stuff and now im hooked lol. The pots that were found were pots. some in pieces and some still in tack.. They were found under the pics of the rocks i posted inside of some kind of wood tree trunk looking like box

Ask the lady from the museum why she is wanting to buy them, and you can find out what they are. Most smaller museums rely on donations and aren't very well funded, but it's great to hear of one who has the resources to send someone out to actually buy artifacts for their inventory.
