Hello All,
vp here ... ok I have a buddy who owns a mail order coin company (for anyone interested they're one of my clients, I created their website at www.robertcharlescoins.com) anyway, I was in visiting my buddy and buying some coins today. He always gives me a coupel bucks above his price.
So, I was about ready to leave with my purchases (an 1807 XF Half dollar & a $20 CH AU gold piece) when he turns to me and says - ya know, I've had something here I wanted to show you since summer but forget everytime you come in ... intrigued I watched him pull out a box of stuff and he tells me how an old fellow came in over the summer who was a local detectorist - now he knows i am a detectorist and am always interested in looking at dug finds (especially locally dug)
anyway, the guy wanted to sell his findings because he needed the money etc, etc - now i'm not sure how long the guy has been metal detectoring but i sorted thru the box quick and there was some cool stuff in there - not worth alot money wise (my buddy told me he already picked out about "12 good finds") but very cool indeed - i asked him if he wanted to sell the rest and he said sure how about $50 ...
i jumped at it, i figure at the very least i'd use the box as motivation with the Bone Dry Detecting crew ... it's incredible to think of all these finds being made locally and goes to show you the great coins that are out there ... i figure everytime i need a boost, i'll sift thru the box and find my motivation ...
enjoy all

Bone Dry Dtecting
PS: again we did not dig any of these finds
***** ANOTHER PIC ADDED *****
again I'm just posting these for inspiration, someone else found them,
but i think it's very cool that coins like these come out of of the ground at all,
really makes me wonder what else is out there waiting to be found !!!!! vp
