Integrating Artificial Intelligence into TreasureNet

IMO, any time AI is used there should be a requirement that it is labeled AI generated and not human. Example is that I used to enjoy watching "reels" on FB but it has been taken over by AI generated videos so I no longer watch them. Same would hold true for any post that is AI generated, I would ignore it.

I like the idea of a detector with Ai. Just having it recognize a nail patch or black sand you walk into and to have it adjust reactivity and sensitivity on the fly could be amazing.

TRUE but what if A.I. was controllable from some nut case and they wanted to "infect" your computor ?? How would you know or even stop it before your computor was ruined ? There has to be some controll or the ability to prevent this from happening ! Most everythinghas A.I. on i right now ! Eventually some crazie will figure out a how - to -mess everything up program and will it be to late for us to controll or remove it ?

Any social platform like this without A.i. integration will eventually be eclipsed and fall in to total irrelevance.

How could it become a "phenomenal addition" to this forum? I think you're grossly overstating what AI can do for us metal detectorists. There are no shortcuts when it comes to metal detecting. Do research and pay your dues. Nine out of ten spots will be a bust and that's the way it will always be. Sounds to me like the next generation of diggers are getting lazy and want AI to do the work for them. Get off the internet, get off your butt and get out detecting!

This is a bit like letting a kids mark their own homework, but an AI generated answer:

Yes, artificial intelligence is increasingly used to help locate hidden treasure, including sunken shipwrecks, buried artifacts, and valuable mineral deposits. AI acts as a high-powered research assistant, analyzing vast datasets to identify promising, often overlooked locations.

How AI Assists in Treasure Hunting:

- Geological and Historical Analysis: Companies like Earth AI analyze decades of geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to pinpoint "hot zones" for valuable minerals like gold, silver, and copper.

- Underwater Search and Mapping: AI-powered technologies can detect subtle variations in seafloor topography, helping to identify small depressions or unusual formations that may indicate buried shipwrecks.

- Processing Archived Data: AI can scan through centuries-old records, logs, and maps to find clues that humans might miss.

- Deciphering Clues: In organized, mystery-style treasure hunts, AI tools are used to analyze obscure clues, analyze text, or process information from digital maps.

- Core Sample Analysis: In mining, AI scanning technology can re-evaluate old rock samples for previously overlooked mineral deposits.

Key Advantages:

- Efficiency and Cost Reduction: AI significantly narrows down the search area, reducing the need for expensive and time-consuming manual exploration.

- Pattern Recognition: Machine learning models are exceptionally good at spotting patterns in data that indicate where treasure might be concealed.

- Speed: AI can process information in seconds that would take human researchers years to analyze.

While AI is a powerful tool for narrowing the search, finding physical treasure still requires on-the-ground investigation and excavation.

Without a scanned document, photo, or any other information all of the above is mute.
It's helpful if someone has done the heavy lifting, uploaded, stored the information
The way I see AI helping is a quick reference to the problem/question that we ask.
60% of the time it could be right.

It's how we ask the questions and it will generate a different number of answers.

In identifying objects it's getting better. In valuation I still don't trust it.

When I think of A.I. it reminds me of my favorite scene in the TV series "Black Sails"...

Captain Flint (A.I.) stands over the mangled body of Logan (the world before A.I.). The crew (all treasure hunters) is silent, frozen in shock.

"I’m not just going to make you rich. I’m not just going to make you strong. I am going to make you the princes of the New World!"

One of the best things to use A.I. for right now:

Find as much treasure as possible before the whole world as we know it is changed, for better or worse. We have never had a more powerful tool to assist in the search.

A.i. could be a phenomenal addition to this forum if implemented effectively. It doesn't take a lot of vision to see that. Some of you guys are acting like it has a mind of it's own. It's nowhere near that stage yet. It will interact with the forum as it is commanded to. Any social platform like this without A.i. integration will eventually be eclipsed and fall in to total irrelevance. But I'm sure the real decision makers already know this.

You will never get anywhere sitting around crying about the inevitable, filling your mind with all the negatives and things that could go wrong. That's for sure. I recommend using it to your advantage... or get left in the dust.

Funny, that’s sounds like what I’d expect an AI Bot to say in order to save itself.

🤔

Having a massive amount of information available at your fingertips is
wonderful, but being able to have any trust in that data is questionable.

I was an oddball, in that I'd actually sit and read the encyclopedia, and
never had a doubt that what I was reading was accurate. Did learn a bunch
of odd stuff...that I don't remember, but then that was 55-60 years ago. :laughing7:

Listen if it makes you feel like a big bad treasure hunter to be aimlessly swinging that little coil around the rest of your life for pocket change then you do you.
There is nothing at all to be gained from most any of you. For anyone serious about achieving anything significant, it's literally detrimental to even engage with you. 😆 Have fun being a "metal detectorist" guys.
Good luck with those dowsing rods, as that's how they work.

If by "metal detectorists" you mean people with tunnel vision so severe that they've chosen to permanently depend entirely on their cheap pulse-induction machines limited to 2 ft depth then yeah, I guess you're right. There isn't much else anyone or anything can do for you besides wish you the best of luck. Because you'll need it.

Are you saying you don't use the internet to do research? A.i. is simply streamlining the process. Listen if it makes you feel like a big bad treasure hunter to be aimlessly swinging that little coil around the rest of your life for pocket change then you do you.

Wow, can you be any more obnoxious and condescending? Sorry if I don't agree with your "brilliant" idea about integrating AI here.

As for the pocket change comment, here's some of my finds. I just had to shut some guy up on the friendly forums the other day who was making the same rude comments, so I'll copy the pics and text from that post.

Chew on some of these finds: 7 Sterling silver salt and pepper shakers sold for $200, 14k gold Omega wristwatch sold for $985, 1878 CC dime sold for $475, 42 Sterling silver rings and a 10k gold class ring, which I sold for $350.00. Mic drop...

Look at yourself in the mirror. You called me lazy and said I want A.i. to "do all the work for me". Telling me to "get off my butt and get out detecting!"... Meanwhile, I'm in a foreign country, hiking deep in to dense jungles, risking it all in pursuit of legendary treasures. I'm not lazy when it comes to this. I could just as easily say you are lazy, for limiting yourself to small targets in the upper 1.5-2 ft layer. Don't tell me to start digging when you're choosing to ignore deeper and potentially much more valuable targets because you don't want to dig deeper than 2ft. You should expect a response when you start hurling baseless and degrading insults at people.

Beautiful finds 👏🏻 and I'm genuinely happy for you. What if you could double and triple that amount in the same timeframe using A.i. research or technology produced with A.i.? Would you refuse the opportunity?

No, you wouldn't.

I've noticed Grok and Claude pulling information from this website in their thinking processes. So somebody's making money off your precious data here. Maybe in the future someone will decide it should be Treasurenet profiting from it's own data. Time will tell.
It is owner's decision, we are owned by Forum Foundry Inc, they own many websites covering many topics.

I can see clearly why all the serious searchers have steadily and completely vanished from this forum over the years. It's a shame. No worries, this "AI Bot" is about to give up on this place. There is nothing at all to be gained from most any of you. For anyone serious about achieving anything significant, it's literally detrimental to even engage with you. 😆 Have fun being a "metal detectorist" guys. Peace ✌🏻

Stick around, there’s more!

:happy1:

Here is an example of AI being introduced into the music industry: Go to Youtube and type in Eddie Dalton; a good song to listen to would be "Another Day Old". Then go on the internet and search Eddie Dalton music. Eddie Dalton is AI. Curious what human music artists think of AI in the music industry mimicking human singing?

I'm assuming all the AI models are trained against the entire public internet, of which TreasureNet is a part. It is Ironic that all the "open source" and "information should be free" people have been accidentally creating the very asset that is now being sold back to them.
