Smart Tracker XR8 gift from dad as a kid, 1983?
Garrett Master Hunter CX/12" high energy hothead. R.I.P (1991-2013)
Hit a local spot close to home, !!!! But since I was still learning the ATPro I figured I would start digging some of the mixed signals.. I had not one second of NON iron grunts, it was insane, but I dug dug dug...
Everything my son and I dug was somewhat interesting, so we kept it..
A Holmes & Edwards silver plated spoon, est 1930's I checked all patterns, could not find exact one.
A Tudor Beer can,, probably 40 years old.
A bottle from Maryland Glass judging M in hexagon stamp and dated the screw top to 1937 from pictures.
A brass button...
Hunk of melted metal, not lead or iron,, have to figure this out.
And a Richard Hudnut milk glass jar that also dates 1930's.
It dates to timeframe of this old house.
Just way to much iron in this area. BUt will be going back and moving further from the foundation.

Strange we have this old bottle luck..
Just adding this to our other antique bottles we have found metal detecting,,,some would never have been found if not for some iron junk mixed in the hole...

Ya did good - the bottle should clean up nicely solaryellow. Thanks for sharing...

That Tudor beer can should clean up nicely! I like it! Good "Junk"

Set that discrimination to 79 on that ATPro and go find the silver coins at that site. Great hunting. Have some fun! Sub8-)

Yeah I ran Pro Custom mode, no notch elim and iron at 25, I was doing ok working around the iron grunts and narrow scanning the good beeps. Sad that those high 70's were all screw tops. Problem with this site was it was a party hangout for ages.. so there is a lot of crap near the surface..

...... so there is a lot of crap near the surface..

Those beer cans, once considered to be "crap" are now highly collectable! Some of those "dumpers" bring big bucks!

you can actually soak the rust (but not the paint) off of beer cans using oxalic acid (and that can is probably closer to 60 years old than 40..by 40 years ago it was all tab-tops) - check out www.therustybunch.com (esp. the message board) for info on cleaning beer cans (and other tins.....lic. plates...toys...anything really)...Ive sold many rusty beer cans over the years for decent money..depends on which ones......

Yea the oxalic acid works wonders.... I bought a bunch at amazon and use it to clean all kinds if stuff.

THanks, I will check that stuff out,,,there is a ton of other stuff that I didn't bother to dig, but the concentration of these items I got were all in a 200 sq ft area. When the weeds die down this fall, I can hit the other areas.
