Metal Detecting
Howdy folks. Just found Treasure Net, joined, and plan on reading some posts, and get a feel for the place. I am currently riding the F75 learning curve. Pretty sensitive unit. I bought this machine last week, and at my first selected site to hunt, a small river peninsula, adjacent to a colonial rice plantation, lucked into a small buckle w/two pointy prongs, a flat plain pewter button, a brass over pewter harness medallion(?), and a meteorwrong. Oh, and a rusting out clothing iron, the kind that weighs a few pounds, and you heat up on top of the stove. I thought it was a good day, 75 degrees, and no biting bugs yet. I am new to metal detecting, not new on the planet. Been here many moons. Have seen the elephant.

Welcome aboard from Canada

WELCOME. I found an old iron like yours, cleaned it up and it was stole during a home invasion.

I am sorry to hear your home was invaded. I have to say, upon reflection, you must be a minimalist, if all they could find to steal was a rusty clothes iron. Not to mention, hard to run with it in your pocket.

I've been having mine a month and a half. A metal detect about four times a week so now I'm getting past the curve. I'm noticing that in use it more than my at pro. I'm liking it.

Thank you Relicific for that hands across the border welcome. Canada is a big place. Can you narrow down to province size or less what part of Canada you spend your life? Just curious.

Hey Truth. Yeah, I'm liking mine too. It is way sensitive. I need a decent set of headphones, though. The el cheapo, no name headphones that came with it as a "bonus", too small for my head.

Welcome Aboard Kray! Take a look at Sub-Forums: South Carolina for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome to the form from Massachusetts!

Thanks Nick. Your area must be a hotbed of colonial and Rev. War relics and English Coins.

Thanks Against. Are you one of those in a basket we heard about from our former First Lady, in her unsuccessful bid?

Welcome to T-net. :hello2:

Thanks Booty. I spent 3 of my formative years in San Diego, in Uncle Sam's Navy. A good time. Prehistoric time.

Hello Enginefitter. Ohio must be an interesting state for detecting. Do you get access to farmland there? You guys produce a lot of presidents.

Hey Tom. Thanks for the welcome. 440 years? Is your excavation visible from space yet?
