Hey back again, found this yesterday in one of general shermans camps, the side of the bank where we were had caved in and this was found in the cave in. Its about 6" long and 3" wide, the main part is made of Iron but the little roosette in the middle is made of what looks like silver. It doesnt have any marking on it, execpt 2 letter "N's" in the middle of the silver piece. This was about 9 inches down.

Looks like it might be the clasp to a trunk lock or something like that.
