Today was one of those days.Don't know where my luck came from today but I'll take it.I met up with Buckleboy and Rodeo for a Iron Brigade hunt. After last weeks killer finds I didn't think that things could get better... but they did. We did a little door knocking and got a no right off the bat. :P We then drove to a little spot that Buckle Boy hadn't given much thought to , turns out he led me to the Honey Hole.We got permission to hunt an old house site that we weren't sure about but thought lets give it a try.I turned on the machine and we all took off in the same direction. My first target was a brass lock.It says Tower&Lyon,N.Y..
I then moved on another 20 feet or so and hit a good target.Opened up the hole an out pops a 1841 large cent.OK now I'm on cloud 9.My first large cent.We did some high fives and carried on.A little while passes and BB is checking out a find with Rodeo when all of the sudden I got another good signal and Boom, a 1877 CC Seated Dime.Whoo hoo I'm now dancing with the stars. :o ;D.We all three sat and thought about the Lucky horseshoe I had stuffed up my you know where.Three killer finds in less than an hour. This sites finds were thin.We carried on for a while longer and then I got my fourth find of the day.A nice Eagle button. My second in a week.Today was one of those days.I don't think I could top it again.
BuckleBoy ,once again an awsome hunt with you and Rodeo.Lets do it again soon.

Re: Iron Brigade:I don't know where to begin?Carson City?

Great post and finds!

The Tower & Lyon lock dates c. 1870 or later. I believe these were actually manufactured by the Union Lock Co. of New Haven, CT,
which later became the Union Hardware Co. and took over Tower & Lyon in 1910.

HB, a great post, a super day and may a few more come your way just as good if not better~ (Including skunking BB :tongue3:)

Down but not out, here!   :P

There's always the next hunt.  I was thrilled to see Rodeo's first LC earlier this year--and was glad I was there for yours, HB.

Now I wanna be there for KFB's first Seated.

That was a fun hunt, but I'm not gonna post my bits and pieces of harmonica reeds or any of that junk, unless there turns out to be something cool in there somewhere.  Every time I turned around, it was another bit of a harmonica reed.  Rodeo did slightly better with a brass wedding band and suspender clip.  Danged electric fences driving me up the Wall!  (Seems like an apt excuse--but also true...)

Best Wishes and a BIG Congratulations, HB.  The second one of anything is always easier to find than the first.

Now we've got our "No's" out of the way (after a 15-site streak of "Yes's" we were due). And I've got my yearly skunk out of the way. :P :icon_jokercolor:

Wow. Finding a large cent or a seated silver coin would certainly be the biggest moment of my detecting career. There aren't many of either over here. Nice digs!
