Personally I do not think the Government shutdown will much impact the price of gold as much as people think. There are other global geopolitical forces at play.
There global demands for gold. there are dangerous time Europe as tilting into growing threat of war with Russia Ukraine war. Russia is progressively going bankrupt. Its only staying afloat with China and India buying cheap oil. People can see it. The UK is politically correct basket case on verge of civil war or at the very least civil unrest. Its economy is crap.. turmoil in Israel and Palestine. And host of countries on the brink of economic collapse. Contrary how the CCP in China portrays themselves as sunshine and butter cups. The fact of the matter China is in big economic trouble. They have had a massive property crash and lost millions of jobs. To justify the CCP existence they have to invade Taiwan to keep the myth alive of the narrative they have created. China is buying up gold and India as well as country's around the world building up their gold reserves as there is a real fear that we will be facing a world war in 2027. That is there a mad scramble to rearm and militarize all over the world. All the alarms bells are ringing baby!
Investors are hedging their bets against rising property prices stock market shocks, AI boom that might turn into a dot com bubble. political tensions all over the globe and economic uncertainty.

If you study graphics you can see. notable features
Japans government debt is massive. France and china corporate debt is massive. Australia and Canada's household debt is very high. current world debt is 97 trillion. nearly one third is the united states. Some countries spends more to service their debt than their actual Gross Domestic Product. All of above is one small part in the driving factor of gold prices.
Gold has always been seen as a economic lifeboat.
