What's new

Is it just me, or is there a Gloom over T-Net?

Trish,

You know - someone told me "Smile, it could be worse"

So --- I smiled

And, sure enough, it got worse! ;D

Cabin fever is running high - unfortunately, we sit in our homes during the cold of winter, and all we hear on tv is how bad everything is.

We splurged yesterday - we went out driving (looking for potential new spots for when the ground isn't frozen).

But, the geese are flying north, and the trees have new buds on them - so spring is right around the corner.

Hello Trish,

Well, you have numerous replies here with differing opinions, so while I've got you on the line I have something
to say that is unrelated to your question. It is simply THANK YOU! I'll explain. LOL.

The other day I started a new post.Due to some interruptions while typing I very badly misspelled one word that I didn't
catch until after it was posted. I got a question from 'Goodguy' asking what the word was. After telling him what it was,
I mentioned that I wished I could make it right. I figured once it was posted there was nothing I could do about it. He
told me how to fix it. After I fixed it and discovered how easy a process it was I thanked him and he said that you
told him how it was done and was passing the information along. Therefore it is time for me to thank you,too for telling
him. That is such a handy little tip to know and I appreciate what you did. You are both a couple of very nice people.

Just wanting you to know how I felt.

And, by the way, Have a great valentine's Day.

Ray

aww, well thank you Ray, you would of eventually figured it out, but im glad GG was there to help you.
If that little button wasnt there, i'd be in trouble all the time, i cant spell either. I have to almost Google every time i make a comment...just to see if i spelt spelled something right...lol

A very Happy Valentines Day to you too!

Happy Happy Joy Joy! :icon_sunny:

I think it has a lot to do with the uncertainty of the economy, combined with a law that banned treasure hunting in Louisville parks, mixed with politicians that don't know there butt from a hole in the ground, and a smidgen of 6 more weeks of winter. My weak attempt at a joke...

People are apprehensive right now. I talk to Fred about my concerns, He talks to Jan, she talks to Bill and so on. Not much GOOD being talked about, mostly us (the country) as a whole, concerned about our welfare. Not very conducive to positive thoughts. Remember how good you felt when you heard about how Capt. Sully landed the plane in the Hudson and everybody lived? But that fleeting moment of happiness was soon swallowed by our next personal crisis. Its not just at TNET, Its everywhere. I personally can be easily overwhelmed by such thoughts as I am the sole provider of my family. I go, they go. Not pretty. Most of us are thinking along those lines. We don't like it when our self sufficiency is threatened, especially when there is not much we can do about it right now. You guys here at TNET are fantastic because you all try to help each other despite your own looming problems. I am humbled and thankful to be getting to know some of you.

So, my friends, we need to take Chub's advice (Happy Gilmore) and find our happy place. Mine is at home with my family and in particular, with my niece. I simply can't wait to get off this boat, (2 months today) go home and see her, play with her, tickle her, love her and see the wonder of the world through the innocence of her eyes. She is 20 months old and a joy to hold. Everything will be fine when I am at home. I sincerely hope that you all have your own happy place.

May God bless us all

john
