Beats the hell out of me ... I was lost at the first mention of
geometry..

I have seen diamonds before, and they sure didn't look like
those.

Gonna follow the thread though, and hope someone comes by
that speaks that language. It may be straight up, but my first
thought was that I was being fed a load of double-talk .

I agree with Gunsil.

Lonsdaleite is also known as "hexagonal diamond" and it is an allotrope of Carbon. Allotropes are just the different crystal structures one element can have, like how Ozone and Dioxygen are both forms of Oxygen but are still two completely different materials, so the nickname "hexagonal diamond" is kind of misleading and it isn't a diamond, at least not in the sense we usually think of one.

There is such a thing as Lonsdaleite. It can be natural or man made.
