A friend of mine found this in his farm field while looking for arrowheads. He has quite a collection of points, broken soapstone pipe bowls, and knifes. He was showing me this today and it appears to still have some type of paint on the outside bottom of the bowl. My guess was a mortar for grinding ochre but I am by no means an expert on Native American artifacts. Thanks in advance for your help!
