Hey guys, never ever went looking for arrowheads or anything so excuse my ignorance :laughing7: but the opportunity came about with this enbridge gas pipeline running from canada to texas (from what i understand) that runs through my old neighbors property. Roughly 4 acres of exposed ground to rummage through, staying away from the lines and out of the workers way of course.

Spent about 3 hours looking closely at the darker topsoil (not the clay) and came across this one unusual looking piece today that didnt fit in with the other stone i was seeing.

i suspect its a broken tip? its real sharp on the left and right side, the bottom is about as thick as a pencil and broken off in appearance + it appears to have chip's/worked marks on both sides. the rock material does not fit in with any of the other stone i seen today which caused it to "stick out" to me.

Definitely could be a tip. More pictures would help but I wouldn't have any trouble believing that's a tip.

Nice start, good find.

You should look at the clay area. NA Indians used clay as flooring to their homes. It dried nice and was hard it also helped to keep the insects out. I have some places I go to that I only find artifacts on the clay areas and none in the regular dirt. Keep the hunt alive and good luck in your search. i hope to see some good ones that you find in the future. Thanks for the view, rock

Heres another i had on my phone looking straight down from what would be the tip. of course better photos are necessary for a definitive answer, guess this is another "tease" lol.

99% of the ground around this area is clay/gravel with 1' of topsoil, i wasnt excluding the clay intentionally.. the gas line company kept driving by eyeballin me but wouldnt stop and ask what i was doin, i just dont wanna intrude into they're work space too much.
with all this "terrorism" ::) crap the govt is pushing and these being fuel lines of some sort, i dont want them to think im sneakin around and tampering when no ones around :laughing7:
ill have to flag a guy down tomorrow and tell them what im up to so i dont look like a suspicious character like the lady down the road..... shes chaining herself to trees so this fuel company wont cut them down ::)

Check the dirt that the company is turning. Most and not all are at least a foot or deeper. The deeper the soil the older the stone usually is. Not too many will be in the first layer most will be under that.

Didnt get a chance to get out today because i was workin.. then after i was finished up the neighbor had his buddys out back his property shooting but i did get better photos

I really don't see any uniform flaking, therefore I surmise that your find is only a flake of material. I would continue to search in the area, you never know what else you may find. Good Luck!

done gone broke my heart :laughing7: oh well.. i know there out there, just takes patience.

My dad had found about 5 or 6 about 8 miles south when he was a kid so i know they're around.

Thanks for lookin at it guys.
