This is my first time guessing and believe me I'm guessing. Im thinking natural and not made by humans.

I see no secondary edge flake removal that would make it a tool but,it was intentionally struck off a larger piece thereby making it what’s commonly called a waste flake....your lookin in the right place...that’s a great way to get a good I.D. Well done

Thats cool. I wouldn't know anything yet about flakes or basically much. I hoped I covered myself and it was just a guess.

You would have to examine the dye closely under magnification to see if it shows wear indicating use. But it certainly could have been a backed knife whether it does or not.
