It was nice to swing the coil again...and the silver was poppin' out.

First off ...I want to thank each and every one of you who gave my family your thoughts and sympathy over the last many weeks. :angel11: Many of you did it by responding to my posts...some of you pm'd me...etc. Trust me...I don't forget things like that... and I truly appreciate it. It has been a very difficult time for us...but I know my dear mom is now in a better place and that God will take care of her until I get to see her again. :angel7: Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

After everything had settled down Monday evening...it all hit home ??? ...and I realized I needed to keep my head above water. I put on the headphones and ventured a few miles away to a pounded park that always seems to give up a few keepers.

After 2 hours or so..darkness set in...but I didn't even care. :tongue3: I had 3 silvers at this point along with a handful of wheaties....and an injun. ;D
I kept on going for another 2 hours or so and added one more merc (1919s)....a beat up sterling ring...and one more injun. The shallowest coin was one of the wheaties at 6". All the other coins were 7" to as deep as 10". At about 9 P.M. my shoulder decided that I needed to quit for the evening. ;D That's okay 'cause I planned on staying with my dad for the night so he didn't have to be alone. :angel11: I planned on pounding the park again in the morning.

Tuesday I woke up early..well actually I don't think I even slept because of stress ??? ...but I got up anyway. I planned on mowing my parents yard all afternoon to lighten the load on my dad ...but the morning was set aside for some deep silver hunting at the park again.

Off I went for another 5 hours...and again I found some deepies.
My first find was a 2 coin silver pocket spill...TWO 1918 mercs in the same hole. :headbang: Yippee!
Continued on and popped out a THIRD 1918 merc from 9" down that had a rusty nail right accross the back of it...as I showed in the pic. :hello2: In fact...the SE was in a complete null for more than 10 seconds through this iron infested spot...but it had no problem peeping out the silver chirp right through the silence. I have made most of my best deep silver finds over the last couple of years..right in the middle of a null..so no matter what anybody says....it does happen ...and I have proven it to myself over and over. I just slow down to a complete crawl..and wait for the SE to let me know if there might be a coin hiding in the iron mess...and if there is...the SE will peep silver right through the silence.

Continued on for a couple more hours and popped out 2 more mercs......2 more injuns...and another big handful of wheaties.
I only cleaned two of the injuns...and they look sweet...so I will clean the other 2 as soon as I get time.
The total take from a 4 hour night hunt...and another 5 hours the next morning at this park......24 wheaties....4 injuns...8 mercs...1 Roosie...and a beat up sterling ring.
Thank you all for viewing my post ...and again...thanks to those of you who kept my family in your thoughts through everything. :angel7: It meant a lot to me at a very difficult time....and I do not forget stuff like that...so thank you all  :angel7:

Re: It was nice to swing the coil again...and the silver was poppin' out.

Silverfreak, While I have not lost either of my parents yet, I hope that I have as many friends in here as you have, that can help me as much as they have helped you through your grief. But, as I console many of my friends who have lost loved ones, I will say the same to you... Remember the good times, talk about her/him very much. It is the only thing that helps ya get through the rest of your life. I know it hurts, but keep your head up. All is not lost . And when you have a major decision to make, remember this..... WWMD - What Would Mom Do? You're definitely on the right track. My sincerest condolences........ NGE oops, almost forgot, Nice Finds!

Re: It was nice to swing the coil again...and the silver was poppin' out.

I'm so, so sorry to hear about the passing of you Mom, Bryce. It will be a difficult next few months, but as NGE said, make sure and keep her in your conversations..especially with your Dad. I lost my Mom five years ago this October. Just keep those sweet memories of her close. The pain of losing her eases with time but you'll always miss her.

Going out detecting is great way to soothe a troubled heart. Your finds are awesome as always! :)

Bryce,
Our sincere condolences for the loss of your Mom, I lost my nephew to brain cancer, he was 17. This was my bothers only child that was an extremely rough time for us all, he was a detectorist, bottle hunter, relic hunter etc. and we all truly miss him. It is great to be able to comfort your father and to help when ever needed.

It is also wonderful to spend time doing the things we all enjoy to help ease the tremendous loss, but we know that she is watching over you
take care & those are truly wonderful digs my friend.

My condolences Bryce. You have one thing right, try to stay busy! And fortunately, you have a hobby where you will never lack for something to do.

Peace!

Re: It was nice to swing the coil again...and the silver was poppin' out.

Hope all is well for you man. Soory to hear about your loss.

You seem to be doing the right thing though. Detecting really gets the mind off of things. Very hard to be down and out while your hunting.

Those are some nice finds by the way also. I'm sure your Mom is looking down with a smile every time you dug a plug.

Take care man,

Jeremy

Super finds Bryce, and some good deep signals too. I am going to have to work on that, seems I hit a wall at 6 to 7 inches. Sorry for your loss. Glad you could get out and ease your mind. HH
Rodney JDD
Thanks JDD. Sometime maybe we can hunt together...you..me...and G-Money...and we'll compare signals. You and G should do it too....it's cool to compare how a deep target sounds on your machine. I'm sure you guys already do though....and that's why you fellers' have become lethal with your machines. I like to compare the machines on deep iffy hits. Heck..it's the only way to learn...and trust me...I love learning and picking things up from my hunting buddies. I try to learn something each time out....and nobody gets all the deepies...at least I don't anyway ;D

Sorry about the loss of your Mother. You are a tough guy. Despite the odds, you've kept your head high and maintained a positive attitude about life and still been able to keep on doing what you love as a hobby. God Bless. And by the way, youve kept your name burning..... silverfreak!! Great finds and many more to come
Thanks CJH. I am flattered and humbled at the amount of friends I have made on this forum. I know my mom would be proud.

Man, you sucked those Mercs up like a Hoover! Great job!

Re: It was nice to swing the coil again...and the silver was poppin' out.

Hey Bryce, that's an incredible hunt there!
Very sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. Hope your doin' OK.
I lost my mom just over 6 years ago, and I know how bad it sucks.
It DOES slowly get better over time, but obviously, nothings ever the same.
Anyway, keep swinging the coil.
MDing is a hobby I discovered since my moms passing, and it seems to be a very theraputic kinda thing.
Just you, and nature, and your thoughts. (I love the fall the most).
And hopefully the sweet sound of silver!
Good luck, and again, my condolances.
George.

Bryce I do need to send ya my deepest heart felt sorrow about Mom , I lost my Mom back in '94 and there are'nt many days that go by I dont think about her. One thing she loved was seeing the old colonial finds I was making even back then. Always amazed her that I could go out and find such early treasures !

Now when I do find something worthy I make it a point to thank GOD , Jesus , and yes MOM , Somehow I know they helped !!

Back to your post .... NICE SILVER !!! , The hobby sure does help ease the mind.

Congrats Silver King :icon_king:
