It's been a long time... Big silver surprise!

This morning I found an old elementary school on Google maps that I never knew existed. The odd part is that it was less than 20 miles from me. I thought my dad and I had hunted every school in east Tennessee. I couldn't tell a whole lot about it by the map but I saw an old set of steps leading up to the play ground so it had potential. When I got there I saw the whole play ground was fenced and locked now but a steep hill on the edge of it was outside the fence. I figured there had to be a few kids that played there over the years. I had only been there a few minutes when I got a solid 00-24 signal at 6 or 8 inches on my SE and I wasn't paying close enough attention because all I was hoping for was a silver quarter. Well, when I cut a big plug out it was still deeper. I cut a deeper circle out and scooped the dirt out and out rolled a 1943 walking liberty half. It's worn but I am tickled to death to find it. It's been a good while since I found a silver half. That old set of steps is what convinced me to go check it out. Dang, I'm happy now!!!. Here's the pics if you want to check them out. Have a good one

Awesome find. I know where you will be when that gate is opened. I am always researching on the web for parks, schools and civil war sites and it is a great resource to find places to hunt.
