3 1/2" long 1" in diameter of stainless steel tube with end pieces welded on. Does not rattle when shaken.

Found in the ocean while metal detecting. No inscriptions or markings on the tube.

Must be something inside: ashes, drugs, diamonds, gold coins, contraband, new type of message in a bottle.

Got a thought lets see who is right...Lets cut it open on May19th.

My guess is a high-school industrial arts class substitute for a roll of quarters as a punch augment.

The find weighs 85gr, approx 3oz it is air tight and water proof.
Too light for 53 quarters, but it is the right size.
ABC gum? Already Been Chewed? I'll save it for you.

A video might be in the making while I cut it open on the 19th.
HazMat, FD and PD all standing bye.

Could it be tin? The end closures look more soldered than welded. You might try a large soldering iron before cutting it.

Perhaps I'm a bit too cautious but I believe I would open it outside just in case there are some noxious atmospheres therein.

Anti-Climax

YES...
I am still alive! There was no need for 911, ambulance, State Police, or HazMat, A real let down as there was not even an ash of a pet, no finger, ring, money, jewelry, drugs, contraband, NOTHING! But air.

Thanks to all that got my hopes up and aided in letting my mind go wild for a week. It was fun for me, again Thanks.

Photos of the not so grand opening.

I say, put some of your aforementioned items inside, seal it and through it back in the shallows for future TH threads.
