The 15 photos of the endscrapers, point, sidescrapers, thumbscraper are great, Steve. Really nice pieces. Beautiful stone. I can't figure out which one is Rainy Butte . . . don't know what I'm looking for.

Ward, thought you might like to see these. A big chunk of jasper we collected years ago in NE Rhode Island, and also the only glacial beach pebble/small cobble of RI jasper we've found, on Narragansett Bay. If there were a lot of it, I'd give you a shout to collect some, but there isn't much at all found on our beaches. I just learned it is very easy to find jasper pebbles/cobbles at beaches at Cape May, NJ.

Steve, hope you don't mind, couple photos of points made of jasper, personal finds. The veins in the last one are chalcedony, I'm told. Love the pretty little point you found.

her is a scraper with a spoke shave on the left side
it is the KRF piece in the middleIMG_1796.webp

i had no idea that jasper is found almost everywhere
seems like the orange kind of color is the most common

Unless I'm mistaken... Jasper is just chert that gets its color from iron oxide... or apparently several other minerals since so many colors are being called Jasper.

According to Wikipedia This is a rare Jasper point.

if only you could find the quarry for it and buy up the land.

Here are a few more Jasper's from Mandan.
