JFK Error Help

Looking for some feedback on this half I found CRH. While looking through them the front is the side that caught my eye with the crack. Was thinking it is a die crack so took it out to check it out and then flipped it over....

So I don’t know the proper way to explain this but when you flip a coin over the back should be flipped upside down. This one, the eagle is same side up as the front but the Center is upside down.

What do I have here?

That looks like it could be a Spy Coin with a hidden compartment. Look closely where the crack is, check the outer rim area behind Kennedys Head.

The Eagles Head was upside down because they put it back together with the back in the wrong position...
Great Find.. Didnt they use those for Dead Drops during the Cold War?

I've found a couple dozen magician's coins, but have never found one like this. Very cool!

Wonder how old it is, and where it might have been made?
Just guessing but Im thinkin it had to have been made outta 2 coins, one for the front and one for the back, then put together.
Cant figure out how you coulda done it with those tight of tolerances, without sacrificing one side of each of 2 coins.
Anyone got any ideas on that?

Thanks everyone for the feedback. This week was a decent week. Only got two boxes of halves. This magicians coin was the only thing worth keeping in my box. However, my youngest got a nice box. He ended up with 21 - 40% and I think 9 - 90% (2 Franklin’s, 1 Walker, and 2 JFKs). The Franklin’s were in the same roll and the two JFK 64s were in the same roll.

But spy coin sounds so much more exciting than magicians coin. I found similar by Googling spy coin as well. Either way, I would venture to say I have looked thru $50k worth of halves and this is my first. Thanks to everyone for all of the great feedback.

I disagree. The way the coin is made, it cannot be used in the traditional scotch & soda trick, nor any others I've seen. It certainly isn't fabricated like the dozens of magician's coins I've seen.

I stand corrected. I didn't zoom in on the pics, and yes that is different. I don't remember seeing one of those before.

You can sell magician coins back to Magic Shops or on Ebay. You can often get about $15 for the coin. It helps to have the complete trick.
