Junkyards anyone

when i was a kid [70s] my father would take me to junkyards and i would go thru the cars looking for treasures. I wonder 1 how much silver i found and let go and 2-has anyone tried searching a junkyard?

I often wondered about that. I see quite a few old junk yards around that I would love to search. I'm sure it would produce if , 1) you had the right connection, 2) If you had the time.

I remember when I was a teen and hit the junkyard parts for my SS Chevelle. They don't let us do that now, you must have a yard man escort you (liability reasons, of course).

A few years ago I found a 40% half stuck under the shifting mechanism in a mid-1980s BMW 6-series while at a junkyard. I posted it here in the forum too. Only a few places still let you roam around the yards unsupervised though.

When I was young (many years ago) and I went hiking and saw an old abandoned car I would go through and look for coins. never found any and don't know why I did it. It was long before CRH.

I was at a junk yard about 20 miles north of me. I was building a car and this yard only had old Fords. This was around 1980 something. I ran into this old guy, he was buying every flathead ford engine he could find. We got to talking and he introduced him self as Dean Moon

My dad owned a junk yard when I was a kid. First thing when he'd bring home a car was to rip out the backseat. We found lots of money and other stuff.
