I have the same unit. From what little I have worked with it, I suggest #1 - classify, classify, classify. Suggest 1/2" to 1/4" mesh or #2 to #4 mesh. The finer you classify the better your results. Feed already wet material, the drop sounds right about 2" I guess I may have run flater but I had a pretty good water flow. Use the method everyone talks about, track a classified rock 1/2" or 1/4" dia and allow up to 15 to 20 seconds for the sluice to do its work and the rock to clear. Look for the "Vee" in the center of the sluice that is discussed all the time in the forum. You can use this "Vee" to help start setting level side to side as well. To set level side to side, very important or you will get one side of the box filling up and you may lose gold. You will be able to tell level side to side by watching the material and make sure it is equal side to side. Other than that it is a pretty awesome unit. Oh and if yours still has the parting agent that they use when they mold it, that will come off as you use the unit. You may what to purchase a rectangular bucket, as the end of this unit will not fit into the typical 5 gallon bucket. I picked up the blue pail from Home Depot as other have recommended, It really is a recyclable waste basket that is plastic. Fits fine. I had happy fingers wanting to put my fingers in the box and help clear the material clear, do not do this. LOL For some reason it is cool listening to the material run thru the sluice, sounds like MONEY!!!! I would also add that you should run about 1 1/2" to 2" of water thru the sluice. Otherwise if you are not deep enough you create a rapids affect and that is not desired. Good Luck!
