just started panning for gold

found a small amount of black sand in the bottom but no sign of gold. just wondering if getting some black sand is a good indicator that there may be gold in the area?

Black sand is almost always found with gold but it's not true the other way around. Do a forum search for free gold maps and see if there is gold in your area that has been found in the past. Best of luck

If you are getting black sand, then if there is gold, you will catch it as well. Sounds like you need to move, and keep panning the same way.

Go deeper also!! for the gold

i think i'm going to go back into my first spot and go deeper seemed to get the most black sand there and it was just a but off the surface.
