Hello All!
I haven't made too many posts in the past week or two because I've been busy sitting in the library looking at old maps and reading the OR's. So here it is. Two fantastic hunts with my good friend and recent Tnet newbie Rodeo Recon. We both got the days off to make it work, and here's how it turned out. I'll try to make this as brief and to-the-point as possible, since I still have lots of finds to clean.
So our first hunt this week was to an old coin "honey-hole" of mine--an old ballfield from the 30's and 40's, but now a cow pasture. We hopped in the treasuremobile (a.k.a., Mercury Tracer) and headed out towards Lexington and the site:

Within the first 30 minutes, R.R. got a signal on his Ace 250 that locked in on dime. He called me over to savor the moment of his first silver dime! It was in the rocky soil of an old road through that pasture, so it looked pretty pitted when it came to light. But this Mercury Dime looked like a BEAUTY to both of us. Here are the photos:

Then a little while later he yelled "Silver Dime!" yet again:

Finally, in a feat which I will never understand, but yet am unable to simply chalk up to "beginners' luck," he shouted "I found a ring...and I think it's GOLD!" Rodeo was right on in his ID of the item. Here are the photos of this ring from the cow field:

I left SKUNKED after that short hunt! But I was back with a vengeance later in the day
Nice ring, Rodeo, and a hearty CONGRATS on your first silver coin and gold ring...IN THE SAME DAY! Here are the photos of the ring before and after rinsing:
