I got out to a field ive been hunting sporadically over the years. Theres been other kg2s, a seated dime, local hotel tokens, silver washington quarter but mostly can slaw. Ive spent six hours in this field before and found nothing worth wile but recently i started gridding out the field in sections because its so big. I found the kg2 last weekend and the barber dime and what i believe is a cut hammered coin today. Im hoping someone can ID what kind of coin it is. Im in a place where it is entirely possible for it to be a cut hammered coin. I feel like its not thick enough to be an 8 but most likely a 4.

Outstanding finds - congrats !

Beautiful recoveries Congratulations

Awesome!!! Congrats!!! Looks like an ID!!

Very nice!

Congratulations on a good hunt. In my opinion your coin is a cob coin. from the weigh I believe it is a half reale. Cob coins were trimmed to get them to the correct weight and odd shapes are common. You did a good job pulling that small cob out of the ground. for most of us that is a rare find. Way to go! Stay safe and keep swingin.

Very nice finds- but for the staining, that Barber dime is in incredible shape!

Thanks guys! It was indeed a tough one. Little chirp first when swinging, then zeroed in on it and it was sounding like a zinc penny. 5 inches down in a field full of can slaw. Did i mention how i look at ever bit of can slaw in case one is a cob?

Definitely a cob. That's a huge find. Congrats!!
