Vino invited me up to hunt with him and NJBen, I drove up and hunted four hours with some great finds, the King George is soaking in oil, hope to pull a date later, I can almost see a date. Found six cool buttons, any ID help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again to George, always exciting hunting with him, I'll let him and Ben tell you what they found.

Enjoy the pix, I'll update later with a date (I hope)

You don't have to be sorry, I'm with him too. I still have much to learn, I'm sorry I showed my ignorance. If I had even known the real button is pewter, I would have known it was a replica from the get go.

Extremely well preserved pewter is grey and can look similar, but when you add the suspect back it's hard not to lose hope.

Even if a numbered button was lead I wouldn't immediately count it out just for that reason because it's not a huge stretch for me to think in the 1770s or 80s lead could have been poured into a mold to cast a button. Not something I would expect, but I've seen some pretty weird things over the years.

Great finds Brad ... that 64 Regiment Button is an awesome find man! :occasion14:
Love the Boy Scouts Neckerchief slide too!

Thanks guys, it was a great hunt for me, I kept getting finds that kept me pumped up. Made the 4 and a half hours driving worth the trip (allot of traffic on the way home)
