Found my oldest coin today , 1737 King George II Farthing ! I detected for a few hours at the homesite of a Rev War Officer, the property is still an active horse farm , lots of trash. I did make a few decent finds though ! A very well preserved flat button , I think the back marks say Lillington/ Gilt, a plain horse rosette and I believe the buckle is some type of strap buckle. Very tough digging!
I just measured the coin , it's 1 1/4 inch so it's a half penny
