King James the First Hammered Silver Penny

You never know what the next shovelful will bring. In this case it was a King James the First Hammered Silver Penny! Had a great day finding lots of civil war relics and right in the middle of it all this penny. The farm dates back to the 1600's but had a lot of civil war activity too. I don't post much these days but a find like that will surely bring me out of hibernation. That is without a doubt a banner find that dates back to this countries first settlers. Unfortunately it won't get the recognition that it deserves since it is such a rare find and most TNET members don't appreciate early relics as much as they do gold coins.

I haven't got my book right now but the mint mark is very clear so a date will be easy.
