Landreth Seed Bale Seal

[BobinSouthVA]

It was a beautiful 66 degree day here today, but as I scouted for a place to hunt, I had few choices as the hunters were out in full force 2 days before the end of deer season.

I finally got to an old hunt I know no hunters are on, but I've hit this place pretty hard over the years as it is close to home and good for a short trip. As the light faded and I was digging by moonlight, (which is awesome and peaceful I might add) I dug this bale seal which is my first.

I'm pretty sure it says LANDRETH PHI PA, but not sure about the PHI PA part.

Here is a link to their website. Since they have been in business since 1780, I sent them a message to see if anyone can date it for me. Anyone have any guesses on the date?

Thanks for looking and HH.

Hey Bob, that's neat.

I have dug a few of those before and I never knew what they were until now.

You are right about night hunting, I love it.
