Large Key And Early Halloween Boooooooolets

I went back to a field i hit last year with very little success and managed a few keepers today. That key almost made me pee my pants, but luckily i didnt. I got a huge non-iron signal......and after 2 scoops with the shovel i see the top and some of the stem of the key, and it looks like a sword hanger. Feel free to throw some suggestions at what that key was used for, because i'm clueless
