Found this on a surface at an area that seemed turned-over recently. It's large and seems old. I'm thinking its some kind of a token with a Beehive atop a table.

Any ideas before I start to soak it would be great!

Check out the video on YouTube:

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!

Yes it definitely looks like a token and may have been used at one time as a large cent (hard times token?). Nice find! Maybe someone on the What Is It forum can ID it. If you wet it and hold it at an angle to the light you might be able to make out some of the lettering.

Sweet find. Many tokens are just as good or better than some coins dug, Your's is one of the better.:notworthy:

Must have eroded out of the earth there...sounds like that park may have some history or it was brough in with fill dirt at some point. Regardless it's a fine token. Have you tried cleaning it up with warm peroxide? It might look pretty good under that crud.

The internet is a wonderful thing. I still remember having to go to college library to look through volumes of the Official Records in print. Yep old.
I wonder what the rarity of this is. 1790's mintage couldn't be that high could it?

What a cool and unique find! The fact that one of us have ever seen on is a good indicator that it's not common. Just a suggestion here but maybe you should post it with a new title and see if Cru, Rob, or one of the other boys across the pond can help. Great find BT
