Last 2 days.....I don't believe to many have found one of THESE!!!

Went back to a spot I've relentlessly hunted for over 3 years.....still getting stuff too!

1924 Merc.1903 IH,1920/30 Wheaties,Silver Ring..just makers mark, junk ring,a Police button, unfired 308 found just like this, and I have to get these jail doors home some how...I'd say someone would buy them....don't see to many of them now.:laughing7:

GOD Bless

Chris

Do the doors have hinges on them? If not then they may be what we farmers used to have at the entrance of a fence opening to keep cows from going out. Cows will not cross over bars like that laid on the ground.

Now that is certainly an interesting find! Good thing you spotted it and didn't run the detector over it, your ears would be ringing for a week!

The .308 looks like it was in a fire, but I cannot explain how the bullet got lodged in the shell casing like that.

Yeah, I say any parent of a teenager would LOVE to have one of those doors. I believe what Goldkey was talking about is called a " Cattle Guard ". The ranchers used to have them in Oklahoma. It was a way to avoid using a gate. You could drive over them, but livestock was afraid of falling through. Great finds!

Going back today and try AGAIN to get one..taking a crow bar to lift the top one up to get the bottom one(top one is way to heavy to take).....nothing better to do being retired.:laughing7:

Went back this AM...dang that thing is heavy.by my calculations the big one weighs 356 Lb.It had to have been a window at 12 Ft. long.

Tomorrow is another day,I had a brain storm how to get the door without lifting a thing..until I have to get it to my truck.

After spending near 2 hours trying to get it I'm more determined than ever to get er done!!:laughing7:

GOD Bless

Spent another 2 1/2 hrs. "trying" to get this thing..had to pull the window bar off first.the door was 75% buried with a stump and diamond mesh wire holding it..gotta go back with a hand
sledgehammer to break it up.

I'll be glad when I get it home!! LOTS of poison ivy there too!!

GOD Bless

Chris

If you don't end up keeping the bars--I'm sure you'll have no problem getting a good price for them on Craigslist. The coolness factor is off the charts! I hope you find a ring of keys somewhere under all those bars~
