My nephew graduated sixth grade yesterday and come over to the house as soon as it was over. We all went and got breakfast and came back. Later in the day he ask if I would take him detecting and it sounded like a great idea to me!
The snakes are running so I didn't dare take him out to my usual hunting spots. I asked if he would like to go to the park at the school he attends and he thought that was a great idea! (Wasn't sure that he would want to go back being that summer break was now officially on!)
Anyhow we started out at the baseball park and the diggin there was very difficult but he got his first couple of keepers there. He found this neat little play gun and he was so proud of it. After getting it out of the ground he says " Ya know....it's a good thing we dig everything or I might not have found this Aunt Donna!" The kid learns fast!
Not much else found there but a few coins so we head for the wood chips. As soon as we get there we start by the swings. Money everywhere! Can't even take a step without finding either a quarter or a dime. He told me that he knew how all that change gets there.....Seems they have contests to see who can swing the highest and jump the furthest! :P We ended up finding just at $6 and a few trinkets. Had a great time!
