Tenderfoot
We had decided to call it a day, and were literally feet from the edge of the corn field we were hunting, when I got a solid coin signal. Usually in this field that meant a ball of kettle brass or something similar. The light was gone when I dug the signal so I was operating by feel as I pulled a triangle shaped piece from the ground. I was excited, thinking I'd found a piece of trade silver from the fur trade era. Pulling out my mini mag I saw that the piece was decorated and was even more excited. That was when I saw the "03" and realized that I had a wedge of silver coin. It was a cut piece of an 1803 8 Piece Reale. This is my oldest and most unique coin find to date!
