Greetings fellow dirt fishers.
The crops are planted and coming up here in Illinois so the field hunting is over till fall.
These recent finds are not much but I am posting them before I head back to the woods.
The Bridle Rosette is pewter and from a site dating back to 1830.
Not sure what the little bird like pin is.
Thanks for looking and best luck to all, Merf

Nice finds, I know what you mean buy the end of the hunting in the fields. Our crops here in Ohio are just about
planted, so will have to wait till this fall to hit the fields again. Some of my last finds in the fields I posted Memorial Day. I found a 185? Silver 3 cent piece here in Ohio at a ghost town I hunt.

I will be hunting arrowheads until the crops get up and maybe a little more until I can't walk the corn fields.

HH,Ringfinder

P.S.
Really like the IH and all your finds.

Thanks Ringfinder----I found your Memorial day post. That was an awesome hunt.  I would love to find a 3 cent piece.

A very interesting grouping. The time span between some of the artifacts is neat. The early one piece flat buttons with the Indian Head pennies and lamp tops in the middle of that field is crazy.

There was an old farmstead at that location dating from the early 1800s.
Prolly tore down in early 1900s.

Merf,

Of course I LOVE the rosette.

But I have to say that there are some interesting and neat items even in the last photo--suspender clips, a toe tap, that brass skeleton key is cool... (I don't see a harmonica reed, but I do see an organ reed. ;D )

Of course, I *would* think those are cool, since I have one Heck of a suspender clip collection.

Nice work, Merf!

Thanks Buckles----I have to clean and sort a lot of relics one of these days.

EDDE----You better get out there and put the coil to the soil---Summer goes by too fast. :icon_sunny:
