last couple times out and we had a bit of good luck. A nice NY coat button, a few shell fragments and something we haven't found for a while. A bullet during the civil war hit a tree and was encased in the wood. We've found quite a few of these but not recently. Finally, I found the biggest skeleton key I've ever seen. It was at the site of a 1790's house about 8 inches deep. Must have been a thick door!! Thanks for looking and stay warm!

That must be the key to Richmomnd DV!! Great finds. I have never found but one bullet in wood. WTG, Q.

Great hunts! Not quite sure what is my favorite find though. Would be a tough call.

Nice mix of Civil War relics, love the bullet in wood!

Neat bullet in wood--haven't found one of those in about 25 years.

I love the bullet in the wood find!

Awesome CW bullet in the wood. :icon_thumright:
I've found modern bullets in wood/tree bark but nothing old like that.
Nice NY Militia button as well!
