Went to Shupp's Grove for the annual bottle show and got some nice stuff for my collection, including a Frank Fasano & Co. blob(Only known example), he was only in business for a short time in 1907. A Braun Bros. tooled crowntop in a nice SCA, a Singer & Son paper labeled Lemon Soda quart, 1882 Spreitzer & Remig hutch, Bostwick & Wood quart hutch from Passaic NJ, and a nice Pfannebecker stonie Birch Beer with cobalt B's on the shoulder.
On the ride out I remembered that an auction starting at 11a.m. in Bath Pa. had a nice S. Scheuer & Co. 1/2 gallon script jug from Plainfield NJ in it. I figured I would place a bid online and hope that since it was the only stoneware piece in the auction I could get it cheap since it was a NJ piece. It's not from Pmy area but he had stores in both Paterson & Passaic, so if I can't trade it or sell it I'm happy to keep it. I also found this great Sachtleben jug from Hackensack NJ that will go to a friend who has been searching for it, only jug I've seen that has "When Empty Return To" scripted on it.
Last but not least a member of ABN asked me for my address last week, he said he had a belated birthday gift for me. I figured he had found a common Paterson NJ bottle and wanted to send it my way so i didn't ask any questions because free bottles are the best bottles. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box to find the Grays & Clark Middletown Healing Springs mineral water bottle!!! He knows I have a small side collection of these Saratoga quarts, but that I don't usually buy them, I trade for them or win them in contests. I'm still blown away by his generosity, it's people like him that make this hobby great... Jim
