Back to my favorite spot today with Kevin. Five of the regulars were also there wading. Of course I went out deeper like always. Found a couple interesting spots. First one netted me the two strange bracelets. Then it was hit and miss a few coins and trinkets. Then I stumbled upon another spot that gave up 5 of the 9 rings. Both the gold and the one silver came from it. Also two of the merc dimes. It also gave up the three necklaces. Two are silver. The one with the big stone is brass but the bezel around the big stone is very ornate and also silver.

The largest ring is 10.0 g of 14K. The smaller gold is 5.18 of 10K. It has a bloodstone in it. A Washington, 5 merc's, the silver ring and the two silver necklaces one with a sterling St. Christopher medal, then the other silver pendant were my silver finds. 3 buffalo, two Jefferson and 10 wheat's were my coin finds.

The small lead boat is complete and has awesome detail. One of my favorite finds today.

Makes sense. The Cracker Jack police badge I found was from the 20's. I love old toys. My lead guns might also be from Cracker Jack's. Thank you.

I looked all over BUT couldn't find an exact one with smoke coming from the stack. Do you know where you can find an exact match?

Scuba, here's some CJ prizes (plus some other non-CJ toys) that I've found at boy scout camps no longer around. Check the lower left of the display and you'll see two that match your boat.

CJ Prizes + others.webp

Are you finding them in the ground in that shape? If so AWESOME. Mine have all been underwater finds:

I have a sheep exactly like yours also and a couple of lead cars and a boat I took to the Detroit Boat Show and misplaced where I packed them away at. I also have a couple of clocks like yours missing the bases. HOW did they not get smashed in the ground?

Love the Devildog ring, I guess I am biased being a US Marine. You always are killing it, I am so jealous.

I found a lot of great things in Utah also on land. I believe everywhere there is something great to find somewhere with the right research and the right machine. Thank you for your input an your service. Me USAF 1975 - 1980

You'll need to add another room on the house or rent a storage locker to store you finds. Awesome again!!

I'd say about 95% of the CJ prizes I've found were in the forest preserves near Chicago. The ground is almost always moist and covered by leaves, which act as a cushion. Not all the ones I find are intact. I suspect a lot of the broken ones I HAVE found were broken before they were lost.

If you found your CJ prizes underwater, I really "missed the boat" by not hunting the creeks in these woods. Sadly, these forest preserves are now off-limits to detecting.

The race car and whistle you found are really nice pieces. If you ever happen to find an intact Mantle Clock or Motorcycle, those I'm told, would be worth hanging on to.

Good hunting and stay safe in the water.

I some how missed this post - another awesome hunt
think that stone is a ruby - did you have looked at ?
love the blood stone - have only seen a few set in rings

Yes. The big stones in men's rings were always fakes my jeweler said. That is my second blood stone ring but largest. Thanks!
