Here are a few 1944 australian schillings that have been cut,carved,spooned and drilled.All the same type of coin.Found in an old abandoned house in Michigan, several years back, under some floorboards.These are the closest thing I have to love tokens.I believe most love tokens were made out of seated dimes.

Thanks. And you are right the typical love token is a seated dime from the victorian era, but they are found on just about everything. And I think they are awesome

I havent been able to identify the century it came from, but it appears to be a love token momento of a 3 day old child. It says Jo-Ann L. Hall 12-30-43 -- 1-2-44. It is the exact size of a quarter or 1 reale, and very thin, found covered with coral on a Treasure Coast Florida beach about 10 feet deep after 2 successive hurricanes.

First one I ever found, wasn't sure what the heck it was when I dug it, a quarter(1854) and looks like someone had it put on another piece of jewerly!

Here's the Seated Half Love Token that I have told some of you about. It was in the yard of an old country church and it was DEEP! I have not hunted this place since and I found it way back in 1982 so I know there are more good ones in there! They have since put a trailer on the lot and someone lives there now. I need to go knock on that door.

My one and only! Dug it this spring at a spot that I know is loaded but I think most of it is to deep for me since it's been mowed and mowed for a 100 yrs or more. I have pulled a few nice coins out of the spot and I know that it's never been hunted. (its a convent now) Any advice on the deeper stuff?
