sweet stuff! can you describe the rock shelter? (depth, height, width; near bottom land, on hillside, etc...) i've been wanting to start searching for a shelter but don't really know where to begin.

sweet stuff! can you describe the rock shelter? (depth, height, width; near bottom land, on hillside, etc...) i've been wanting to start searching for a shelter but don't really know where to begin.

100 feet wide, 6 feet tall and 30 feet deep. It's located at an elevation of 1,400 feet on a sandstone cliff line. It's a pretty steep climb to reach it. Those closest major water supply at this time is nearly a mile away however, things have changed over the last 9 thousand years, very well could have been water closer back in the day. I'll take a picture next time I'm there and post it for you if that helps.

Sounds like a great spot. I found a cave one time but nothing like that. Tony

Looks and sounds rewarding. Good luck in your finds, rock

Some niceuns good luck on the dig.

You're are going to have a great time!

Way Cool! Nice points and scrapers, and really interesting material you are finding. It looks like you are going to have a real fun time in that shelter. I would love to see what else you find as you progress with it.

Great mix- and an at least partially sheltered location to search! What an excellent winter project, and good stuff there- thanks for the show! Yak
