DS, ThAT said... it DOES remind me of my dad's times in UK, during the WAR; from the GREAT WAR (WW1), the Brits complained about yanks, being... "OVER-PAID, OVER-SEXED, & OVER HERE (UK); yanks need to be back OVER THERE!" THUS, a song was "born"...

"Scoop"... start singing the song... "OVER THERE" at the TIKI BAR, soon; like yer web-site, down in Fl.

You'd be surprised lol. Stand outside the gates of Buckingham Palace for a day, you'd swear you were stood on Broadway with the amount of American accents you'd hear! Apparently they bring in millions in tourism each year so they get paid a decent amount for doing that.
They could all go "bang" tomorrow for me, and the only ones who bow to her are those who go for tea and medals!
I have been to England and to Scotland, love the buildings, don't care for the weather, gloomy all the time, real depressing, no wonder we are over ran with British tourists.

DieselRam: I just got a break and caught up to the thread. It appears to be drowning again. I would like to respond to your comments.
1. Obama control of immigration: I know exactly what you are talking about. This has been the quintessential debate of our country and dominated the continental congress and forging of our constitution...Federal vs. State rights. We saw what Andrew Jackson did to SC, we know this was the bedrock of the Civil War, and we saw this again in the Civil rights movements when national guard where brought in so non-white children could attend school. Did Obama abuse his executive power? Most of us would answer affirmative on that one. However, I would not go so far as to call it "tyrannical." I see tt as this country's continued struggle to balance state and federal powers. In addition, we have the judicial branch to intervene between our legislative and executive branches.
2. I'm not sure exactly what statements you were referring to but I get the general gist of what you are saying. People say things in the attempt to manipulate others...especially politicians. Statements from the president and other elected officials is a far cry from tyranny.

When I think of Tyranny I look back to our revolution. We were taxed without represenation. Soliders were quartered in houses at will. Heck, you know the history as well as I do. So, in conclusion, I do not think these are examples of "tyranny."

New Question: (Happy to continue with the old as well, but please, lets keep it to one or two examples at a time; otherwise, it overwhelms.) Are you opposed to any amendment of the Bill of Rights or just the 2nd amendment? You know where I am going with this...not trying to be tricky.

Crispin

TH: not trying to ignore your comments. I always appreciate your posts. Will try to respond tonight if this thread is not completely under water by then.

Crispin, I appreciate your reply. I am opposed to any changes to the bill of rights. It is a lot easier to protect our rights then to lose them and get them back. Of all the gun owners in this country (in the millions) we only have a few problems with gunmen. A very tiny percentage of guns are used in crimes. We shouldn't lose our rights because of a few nut jobs. We can take away all the guns by law but bad people will still get and keep guns, we will still have bad things happen. I would like nothing more than to prevent another massacre but taking guns or even just more gun control I believe will just make it worse.

Crispin, another thing I should mention is my eight year old son and my wife are both scared for the security of the school he attends, but the truth of the matter is all schools are just a easy well publicized target. It is a issue I don't think we can legislate a solution to. It must start by healing this country.

Crispin, I call increasing my taxes to pay for parasites that contribute nothing to this country because they are too lazy to
Work for it as tyranny. I call try to force obamcare down the states and peoples throat which causes me to pay $125 a month more for insurance that has less ccoverage than before tyranny, going around congress on immigration with powers the constitution does not give him is tyranny.

Taking money from the working class to give to people to lazy to work for it is tyranny.

Nothing said or posted will change how we feel or think on this.....As long as this continues the growing anger and resentment is going to grow at an alarming rate. The physical cliff rape just added to it

WHO are the "parasites"...? "WE"...? YOU the spoke-person?

I believe it would be quite easy to name just a few of the "parasites" that TH is speaking of but I'll let him do that for himself. Apparently some of us are unaware of the misuse of every single "welfare" program this country offers. There are SOME that need and deserve the help but MOST are parasites and the cesspool is getting crowded. I know this is leaning away from the subject of the thread but it is a contributing factor to our entire society's problems.

Up here where I am located there is almost more parasites than working/contributing citizens. A lot of people seem to be ok with the govt. Intruding on there lives as long as they get a check, heating assistance, food stamps, housing assistance and lets not forget the free cell phones from the govt.

These last few post will help answer your question in another thread Rebel.Real Americans do what they can to work to put food on the table and to pay bills.Real Americans try not to depend on welfare and food stamps and other gooberment handouts.Real Americans would rather work no matter what the work is instead of depending on charity.Real Americans have a sense of pride in depending on themselves.

The people who are too lazy to work. Not the ones who can't work, they are the reason no one here want an end to extending a helping hand, but to pay someone just because he thinks it is beneath him to take an entry level job at entry level pay really gets me riled!

We have trouble hiring entry level people because they think they should be paid for showing up and any actual work they do should give them additional compensation.

It it the welfare mindset that is the problem, and no, it is not limited to any one race either. All the boys I'm talking about are white.

They think someone should care for them from cradle to grave. The only way to achieve that is slavery.

So, "THEY" are not REAL Americans...?

"Welfare mind-set"... NOW, we are "getting somewhere". FOSTERING dependency; y'all feel the Welfare "state" fosters dependency...

No, read more slowly.

IT FOSTERS LAZINESS!

IT FOSTERS AN UNWILLINGNESS TO WORK!

IT FOSTERS AN UNWILLINGNESS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING!

IT ROBS PEOPLE OF THE FREEDOM TO BECOME THE BEST THEY CAN BE BY MAKING THEM ACCEPT BEING THE LEAST THAT THEY CAN BE, BUT THEY'RE HAPPY BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE (ME AND ANYONE ELSE WITHOUT CALLOUSES ON OUR BACKSIDES FROM LOUNGING ON THE COUCH OR EASYCHAIR) IS PAYING THE BILL.

IT MAKES THEM SEE THE WORLD AS OWING THEM SOMETHING, WHEN IT IS THEY THAT OWE THE WORLD SOMETHING . . . BUT THE DEADBEATS REFUSE TO PAY BY BECOMING CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF SOCIETY!

They PREFER being slaves and complaining about it rather than going out and producing and pulling themselves up out of poverty by expending a bit of energy or using the grey matter between their ears.

THAT is the welfare mindset.

Understand now?
