Tesoro Golden µMax

This is my Golden µMax with the 8 inch doughnut search coil. It's an original factory new tone detector, not one that has been upgraded. I've owned several Golden µMax detectors, but this one is by far the deepest one yet. It's the best gold ring finder made.

Tab. How deep will your Golden hit? How deep does it air test say a dime , nickel and quarter? How about in the ground performace?QUOTE=tabman;4939921]This is my Golden µMax with the 8 inch doughnut search coil. It's an original factory new tone detector, not one that has been upgraded. I haven't done really any precise testing with it, but I can get around 3 or 4 inches of air space above a 5 inch buried dime and quarter.

Not at this time. A detector like this one doesn't come around very often. I was super lucky to find it. It has more than paid for itself in gold rings. Once you get it figured out, it's deadly and super fun to use. Are you looking for one?

No I better hold off. It's just one of the Tesoros I've never tried. I'll just stick to my one and only Silver microMax that I have when I get to missing the beep and dig experience

I have a Golden Sabre Plus that reminds me a lot of the Golden uMax that I use to own. (minus the extra tones). It seems like the circuits in these two machines may have a lot in common. My Golden Sabre Plus seems like a hot unit. It will hit a freshly buried 7" deep quarter with about two inches of air space hovering under the coil that my other machines wont' hit. Don't let anyone tell you these machines won't do the business.

Here's the one that sees the most use right now. It's a very versatile machine for sure...

Yes I get bored with one tone and knob! One beep and dig is enough and the silver wins that contest for shallowish fresh drops. I'm back on the FBS bandwagon for most hunting.

That's why I'm hoping tesoros new machine will be an updated golden umax. With four tones there's no need to turn a nob to get a idea of what might be under the coil. Each of the tones takes on an audio variation to further indicate what it might be. Chirpy, choppy, smooth and clean, it's telling you something within a specific tone.
