Life as a Pinko Commie Liberal (An insider's perspective)

I consider many of you among my acquaintances if not my friends. I think that some of you understand me better than others; but still, I think the vast majority do not understand what life is like for a Pinko Commie Liberal like JB, Davest, Stockpicker, Backbacon, and myself. I can only speak for myself but I would like to provide an insider's perspective for those of you who care to consider it.

Some people think that PCL's are bleeding heart liberals who feel that every parasite and scumbag in this world deserve food stamps, free cell phones, and a monthly paycheck for doing nothing. I can assure you that nothing is farther from the truth. We despise people who abuse the welfare system just as much as every die hard republican out there. The difference, is that we understand that the inevitable abuse is a part of any welfare system; so much so, that we would rather the system be abused then watch people die in the streets, have crime rates increased from desperation, and see violent crime rise.

Some people think that PCL's want to take everybody's gun away. This could not be farther from the truth. We treasure the Bill of Rights as much as any left wing republican. The difference is that we do not understand guns and we see violence on a daily basis. Through this site I have learned through and become much more pro-gun then when I started. Anybody who doubts that can check my first post sometime in December and compare it to my views now. We abhor violence and love children. We react instinctively just as the left side does. We need to be educated. Not accused as gun grabbers. Most of us support Feinstein as much as you do.

Some people think that PCL's back Obama 100%. Nothing could be farther from the truth. We voted for him out of hope for change. For some of us it was a clothespin vote because we disliked the other candidate more. I hold Obama to the same standards as you do. He promised bipartisanship and compromise. If he does not deliver many of us will be switching to voting republican next election. You can track these trends historically.

Some people think that PCL's support higher taxes. I loathe taxes and I loathe the IRS. Being a physician places me in a higher tax bracket. As such, many physicians vote republican. I can't talk politics with my colleagues as they gang up on me quickly. I support taxing stratification based on income because of the lifestyle differences. Taking 30% of a 200,000 dollar income has no where near the effect on quality of life as taking 30% of a 30,000 dollar income.

Some people think PCL's support more favorable immigration reform. Heck, those of us who don't live in Florida or Border states really have no idea what this is all about.

Lastly, some people think that PCL's support Obamacare. This could not be farther from the truth. The health system is broken. In fact, it is fatally broken and in a state of DNR. It will collapse in the next ten years. When it does, only the rich will be able to afford health care. When this happens I will be one of the bleeding heart liberals treating people in the streets for free...as I have done for the last 8 years...as I do currently...and as I continue to do so.

Being a Pinko Commie Liberal and Bleeding Heart Liberal is not all it is cracked up to be. Many of us are open minded to the views of others. Many of us are young and want to learn from those who are older. Many of us seek change for a broken system. Truly, as time moves in on, change occurs, and society must evolve with it. Failing to change is the true fault of Communism.

In conclusion, any PCL can be as good or evil as any left wing extremist. Many political issues cross bipartisan boundary lines and are not easily identified or solved. My PMs have always been open to anybody on this site for medical help. Whether you be a PCL, teaparty, or somebody who is currently on my banned list. I should never be used as the standard for anything. Without Worldtalker I would still be letting other people control my emotions...without TH I would still be misinformed on guns and patriotism...without many of you I would be lacking a good many things.

Food for thought.

Via con dios,
Et nomine patri, et fili, spiritus sancti,

Crispin

Ps. My PM is always open to anybody who needs me. No matter what party line you fall on.

Crispin, do a search and list all the Republican / conservatives that authored a gun control bill.... Now do a search and list all the Democracts / Liberals that authored a gun control bill. Note I am saying authored.....

That is exactly my point. Where did I stand before I was educated by this forum? People fear what they do not understand. We need to educate democrats on firearms and stay away from conversation ending rhetoric. If my view can change...why can't others?

Crispin,

You're not all that bad for a PCL, but You are one of the only who do try to understand the differences between factions, and look at both sides of the debate. Other's just want to push forward their agenda, and think that their way is the only one. Please understand that I feel my rights and liberty are non-negotionable. They have been formed by my hererity, up bringing, and life experiences, as I'm sure yours were. I only wish that more people would take the time to make an attempt to understand the statements of others without the constant knee-jerk reactions, an ineuendos that really get no-one anywhere, and diminishes the debate into a shouting match. I do attempt to listen, but frustration quickly sets in and I need to retreat, is that meaning I can't answer the debate? No it means I have been hammered for so-long, that I no longer want to invest my valuable time, and waste yours on something that will end in a draw. Even if there are no winners, just perhaps something later on will trigger some thought, and searching for the answer with both parties.

I realize that this response is somewhat disjointed, but felt I needed to respond. Now it's time for some libation and music, and you know where to find me.

Adios, amigo Gary

Hey Amigo,

Give me a double of the libations and a triple of the song. Don't waste your time on anybody older then 45years old. The younger generation is still listening. I am not alone, there is an army of youth behind me that want solutions and could care less for politics. As the oldest possible member of generation Y it is my duty to lead us forward. This is a metal detecting site...not too many of Gen Y here, but you will find us elsewhere; and, you will find us eager to learn and listen.

Let the rum flow,

Crispin

Finally, one other person I hold common views with! Well spoken! 43 this Friday btw

Come now Jeff,

Let us not go down this road again. There are always exceptions to the rules. What I meant was that it is harder to change people's opinions who are older vs. those who are younger. We cool on this or do we need to go farther?

Well, I was not going to point this out. However, since you brought it up, you are older then my dad. ROFL.

Is anybody getting my point here?

Why is it I cannot question anything you say without you wanting to fight? Your original statement was unclear. My question was intended to bring out clarification.
I have no ill intentions toward you, so try not to take all questions as a challenge.

The problem is most of the younger folks know very little about the principles our country was found on or our constitution..... They can tell you how to play a video game, but could not tell you the branches of our government...

As far as being older than your father, that is alright, I am older than my wifes mother too.....LOL

Being over the hill myself and growing up with standing out side my friends back door and yelling oh for Frankie (Never did get that one) or talking on two tin cans with strings How do you except us old guys to communicate with the younger gen. When they are totally absorbed with all the high tech. gadgets. (Just kidding but you get my point?) Tex-ting doesn't get you eye eye contact Which I;m sure is utmost important in your trade.

So teach us...like I learned from you. Had I never met you I would have never understand the man behind the posts. "Now you can take it." ....doesn't really make a whole lot of sense to my generation.

Yeah Crispin! Us elder fellers shouldn't be fated for Soylent Green yet!

Well, you spoke your peace GOOD

what you do not understand about us older ones, we have lived long enough to not care one whit about what others think.
We have our 'life formed' opinions and views about things. We care not if you are a Doctor, Scientist, or President, our views are our views.
So, while your post is obviously intended to offend me, I am not offended. I chuckle at your thinking so much of yourself.
You may be Physician, but you are not mine. So you went to college, you are not better than me. Get over yourself. Your posts are of no more value than anyone elses.
