Didn't feel the greatest today...you know, when you're not really sick but feel kind of puny. Toward the late afternoon, I was feeling better after a nap. Decided to head out to the sports complex again, where I found my first Eisenhower dollar on Monday. I was hunting an area I've covered last year, not finding much...occasional penny, dime, 4 penny pocket spill, quarter, a silver claded cross pendant. A short, light shower interrupted the hunt for about 5 minutes....almost thought about calling it a day and heading home .
I'm sure glad I didn't. Continued to cover the same area, nothing much, about to move on to somewhere else when, blam....DFX screamed a VDI of 91. Now I'm thinking, can't be another Ike, can it? Maybe another plumbing valve like yesterday. This target pinpointed at only half an inch, placed my Bullseye II down and it goes off. Pulled my lesche, out pops another Ike, only this one is the bicentennial issue. I was truly shocked.... again, especially it being that close to the surface and on the opposite side of the sports complex where I found the other Ike. Well, that made me feel a lot better. I also found token...Skatetown USA. Thanks for looking.

Now I got to really catch up ;D Still lookin'!!!

Congrats on the Eisenhower dollars. I found two a couple of days ago myself 1971 & 1972 in the same hole.

Wow, $man, that's great! :wav:

Is this field used as soccer fields? Maybe these coins were used in the referee's coin flips at the beginning of the games. :)

Yup, about 30 soccer fields. I started hunting this complex a year ago last June. So far, 70 hunts, 1735 coins, $177.18. In addition to the 2 Ikes, I've also found here the 1829 Large Cent, a Kennedy Half, 3 Sacs, John Adams Dollar, gold ring, 2 silver rings, a 20 cent Euro, a Japanese 10 yen coin, a Mexican pesso, 7 tokens, and numerous other jewelry pieces and soccer medallions. Several of the soccer medallions were "coin flip tokens" so you could be correct on the Ike's being used for the coin toss. Good thinking ML :sign13: It's been a fun and convenient place to hunt... only 4 miles away.
