'Linked' Waterbury buttons

I found these coat sized buttons that are linked together with some sort of clip. The back says 'Waterbury Co's., Waterbury, Conn.'
I couldn't find any information on the Internet about this so I was wondering if anyone could provide some input on age/type of buttons these are?

Re: 'Linked' Waterbury buttons

Nice find! They are either cuff links or a collar link. Back in the days
they wore the stiff, straight collar, and that would hold the front together.
Probably from the late 1800's to the early 1900's.
